After in depth training, delivered by SOS-UK, you will be assigned to a department at the University where you will spend a few hours each month supporting them with their sustainability goals and help them achieve a Green Impact award. The role will be shaped by your own skills, interests and experience, as well as your assigned Green Impact team’s needs.
Typical GIPA tasks could include:
- Attending or leading Green Impact team meetings
- Brainstorming ideas
- Assisting with project plans and case study documents
- Developing communication materials
- Collecting feedback
- Estimating impact
- Maintaining the online toolkit and collecting evidence
- Conducting research, surveys or baseline audits
- Presenting sustainability ideas to the team
- Identifying achievable actions to inform next steps
- Liaising with the central Green Impact team to resolve team queries
- Put your mark on sustainability at Sussex
Volunteering will be flexible around your studies and other commitments and you will be supported by SOS-UK throughout the process. At the end of the academic year, you will get a digital badge to demonstrate your experience.
Successful applicants will be invited to training on Wednesday 29 November, 2-4pm.
