Sussex students shine in national Client Interviewing Competition

Law students Carolyn Lemens and Joe Regan are headed to Poland next month following their success in the national .
This competition is an annual event in which law students act as solicitors taking instructions and advising clients in a simulated office interview. Students are provided with very brief information about the client and are then required to draw out relevant information and provide legal advice.
After winning the Regional Final, Carolyn and Joe, supported by Dr Richard Glover, competed with 10 other universities from across England and Wales at the University of Birmingham on Saturday 9 March. The topic for this year’s competition was serious crime. For teams that reached the finals, one of the scenarios included elements of International Humanitarian Law, the topic for the 2024 International Competition.
Sussex were the top team from England and as such, will now compete in the , jointly hosted by Poland and Ukraine at the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin, Poland between 10-13 April.
