Module Outline
The module will equip students with the skills needed to carry out a final year thesis project in human geography. It will consist of lectures on quantitative and qualitative methods and on their application in particular branches of the discipline. It will also contain guidance on the preparation of the thesis proposal, arising in particular from presentations held in the spring term.
Module learning outcomes
Understand a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods and their relative strengths and weaknesses.
Select the most appropriate methodology for their intended research project.
Prepare a thorough research proposal.
Able to use various resource and cartographic skills.
