Who are the main thinkers in international development? What do they say, and why do they disagree?
Are thinkers from the past relevant today?

In this module we cover some of the most important thinkers in international development, discuss why they provide contrasting ways of understanding the state of the world, and their different visions of what development means.

You will be introduced to thinkers such as Adam Smith, Karl Marx, Frantz Fanon, Naila Kabeer, Diane Elson and Amartya Sen.
