How do recall a previously-used command on the IT Services Unix system?

The commands described below need to be entered while logged in to the Unix server.   Normally you'll see a prompt ending with $ when the command interpreter (or shell) is ready for another command.

If the command was given fairly recently, then use the arrowed (up/down) cursor keys to recall earlier commands.

Otherwise, enter [CTRL] R ( hold down the [CTRL] key while you type R) and type a few characters that were given as part of the command. For example, [CTRL] R latex will search for the most recent command containing latex . You can repeat this to search further back in the command history list. There is however a limit to the number of commands Ksh will have stored in its history list.
