Windows 10 only lets me select a non-English language once. How do I select this language the next time I log in?

This FAQ applies to student PCs at Sussex that have Windows 10 installed.

You are able to select a language other than English, but the system will default back to English when you log out.  If you try to change the language again, the language you selected before will not be available.

To resolve this problem:

  • Go to language settings in Control Panel
  • Set British English back as the default
  • Remove your preferred language
  • Click add and re-add your preferred language
  • Set the preferred language again

You will need to do this each time you log in.
