Tuberculosis is a formidable bacterial lung disease and the leading cause of death worldwide from a single infectious agent. The bacterium can survive in lung tissues through lengthy drug therapy and become resistant to current antimicrobial drugs.
In this inaugural lecture, , Professor of Microbial Pathogenesis at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, will reflect on his adventures exploring how these bacteria adapt during infection, and how this information can contribute to the development of new treatments for mycobacterial diseases.

Doors will open at 6pm and the lecture will start at 6:30pm in the Chowen lecture theatre in the Medical Teaching Building (near Sussex House).
