Project prizes

Prizes are awarded for the best computer science/IT project, best artificial intelligence project and best digital media project. The computer science/IT prize is sponsored by , and the artificial intelligence and digital media prizes by .

Each prize is worth £150.

The winners are selected by senior Informatics faculty (the Exam Board Deputy Chair, Projects Co-ordinator and Head of Department) based on the project mark and the project's originality and overall contribution. Note that the prizes are not automatically awarded to the projects with the highest marks, although a First Class mark is needed for a project to be considered for a prize in the first place.

Winners are notified soon after the degree results are announced. The prizes are presented at the Engineering & Informatics School graduation party, and announced publicly at the Graduation Ceremony. All students are automatically entered for the prize, so there is no need to enter yourself.

See the Prize-winning student projects web page for a list of past winners and downloadable reports.
