Faculty of Media, Arts and Humanities - for students and staff

Studio B

Studio B consists of a Control Room, and a Live Room. With its grand piano, hybrid desk and selection of outboard, it is particularly suited for piano tracking, production, and mix automation. With its PA, drum kit and amps, it can also function as a band practice room.

Studio B

The Control Room features an Apple Mac Mini computer, a UAD Apollo interface and monitoring from Yamaha and Genelec. It houses an SSL Matrix hybrid console and controller, with 32 inputs and full DAW control. It has outboard preamps by Audient and TL Audio, outboard dynamics from TL Audio, IGS Audio, and Smart Research, and outboard EQ by API and SSL.

The Live Room houses a Yamaha baby grand piano, Roland v-drum kit, amps by Vox, Marshall, Ampeg and Peavey, and a small PA system.

This facility is available 24/7 except for University closure days. Please be mindful that this facility is located below staff offices. Particularly loud activities (e.g. loud amplifiers and high monitoring levels) should only be done outside of office hours.

Although completing an Induction is not a requirement for using the space, you can request a technician walkthough of the space through your tutor.
